Hey everybody!! Just got back from scoutin' out the site for the picnic, what a beautiful place this park is, even saw a few deer & a rabbit while we were there!!

And what great people Don "The Kansan" and Jackie "Jackson" are!!!! We met this morning for the first time and they made me feel right at home with them. Ya'll are just gonna love them. Soon as they get home Don will be posting some pics he took on his cell phone of the picnic site we picked out. Don't worry folks there are restrooms right there!!!

Oh, and lots of trees to hide behind for when we have our watergun fights!!! lol Which reminds me, anybody got a checkerboard or backgammon game or any other type of board game they would like to bring along?? There are lots of places to relax & play a quiet game if you've a mind to. Maybe even a deck of cards & we can play Hearts or Spades or Poker or whatever.

Yep, I'll second everything Anne said (except the part about how wonderful I am - Jackson's safe because she truly is wonderful!) and the place really is as gorgeous as Anne mentioned.

It'll probably take me a bit to get photos up - some are in Jackie's phone and only 1 is in mine - but I'll try to get them sometime this evening.

The place is really easy to find and we'll sure that everyone has specific directions as well as our cell numbers just in case someone gets turned around or misses the exit, etc...

We had a lot of fun today, running around and looking things over with Scottishlass and I'm sure that everyone will be as delighted as we were when we finally got to meet this sweetheart of a gal!

We're really super-duper excited about this and the site we've chosen is in quite a beautiful setting on the East side of Norris Dam on a ridge above the lake. We'll be close to the Clinch River (below Norris Dam) and we were able to show Anne some of the places that folks can visit - including the area where we'll do the canoeing if anyone is interested - and she can probably tell you as much about it as we can.

Anne, on behalf of Jackie and myself, I want to say what a thrill it was to finally meet up and we're looking forward to "not being strangers." (Especially since I clocked it on the odometer on the way home and we only live about 18 miles apart!)

Great place, good folks. Ah yes, fun times do indeed await us all!

I've been to Tenn plenty of times and it is beautiful down there. I especially loved the overlooks/stopoffs where you can see the beautiful mountains and such.
