The snow is great! We even had a Snow Day on Friday. It will be nice to have a White Christmas for once.

If anyone is interested (and likes country music), there's going to be a great band at the Wolf Den at the Mohegan Sun on Monday, December 29th (Stone Canyon) and a great R&B band on Tuesday the 30th (Dr. K.). Come on down....

Last night I had the priviledge of dancing at the Extreme Music Bash to raise money for Extreme Makeover-Home Edition who is building a home for a very needy family here in CT. I managed to enter a game and won the right to co-host the local radio station morning show. I need some good joke material (nothing naughty). Does anyone have any good jokes I can use? rolling on the floor laughing

First of all, remember when posing questions to ensure they are complete and decipherable because you're aren't. Best of luck.

Sorry to tell you there is no such thing as a mouse relocation program. if you do get it out of the house, I bet it's right back in before you get in the door. You have choices - mouse trap that kills (bait it with peanut butter), mouse trap that captures (and then drive it miles and miles away and hope it doesn't beat you back), or choose to live with it and find mouse droppings all over along with whatever diseases it might have. My choice is kill it and go on because the alternative is not a guaranteed safe one. good luck. By the way, when you see one mouse, you can pretty much be sure there's many more than one.

mychelle: baking
sales?
concert?
raffletickets?

Good ideas - I tried to organize a raffle, but the rules are so tedious and most of the women can afford to go and didn't want to be bothered selling tickets. Baking is out - I barely have time to sleep what with 3 jobs. But keep the ideas coming....

Thanks. I guess you're right. But for now I'll just enjoy playing. I'm off to an invitational tournament on Saturday in Winchester, MA, just north of Boston. dancing

Got any ideas how to raise money? I've qualified to play basketball next August in the National Senior Games but they are in Palo Alto, California (at Stanford). It's going to cost way more than I have available to make this trip. I've already sent out letters to all my e-mail friends/relatives asking for donations (which are tax deductable) and received a few responses. I work 3 jobs now so getting another one is out of the question. I need to raise around $1,000. Got any ideas?

Been there/done that. I think of my late husband often and at holiday times of the year like now, I'm prone to burst into tears for no reason except remembering him even though he passed 6 years ago next month. But, I made my husband a promise to go find someone new and get on with life. Six months after he died when I could finally get through a day without tears, I went on a match dating site and began to date. It was hard and I did feel like I was cheating, but I did it as it was my last promise to him. The only thing you can do is still be a friend to her. Make sure she knows that you aren't trying to replace her husband, just to be a part of her future life which doesn't include him now, except as a happy memory. She is just not prepared for any physical part of a relationship and how long it will take her to get over that, is different for every person. Best thing you can do is be patient and keep the lines of communication with her open. Good luck....comfort

Yes, I was stood up. We were supposed to meet for morning coffee but it turned out he overslept. When I got home there was an apology e-mail. I sucked it up and agreed (after he apologized profusely) to go out to dinner and a movie. Best thing I ever did. He is still one of my very best friends, and always will be. I may not have fallen in love with you, Paul, but I do love you dearly and we'll always stay friends. Thanks. smitten

HAS ANYONE BEEN STOOD UP BY SOMEONE ON THIS SITE: click here to read the entire thread »

My personal preference would be to keep the friends I made on here by e-mailing them directly and not staying on a singles site after I got married. You don't need to stay on this site to keep in contact so that excuse doesn't hold water.

I think you're right. I think I recall reading that Ben & Jerry's is owned by a foreign entity.

Those types of messages could be the result of several things: one, they truly did not read your profile because scammers sending those e-mails never do; or two, this is a dating site and if you're taken, logic says you would not be on this site (although I do know many people do for 'friendship' sake but if you choose to do that, you shouldn't wonder why peole still e-mail you as this is a dating site afterall, not a social club like my space; or three, they really don't care and are just hitting on anyone. Your reply can be anything from a kind "thanks but I'm taken" to a more clear "why didn't you read my profile before e-mailing me?" to the abrupt "get new glasses, my profile says I'm taken!" The only thing I can suggest is a little patience should be afforded, after all, if you don't want people to get to know you better, you shouldn't be on a dating site, taken or not.

I have my rating on and find the results interesting. I'm not so insecure that I would say "I don't care what people think of me" because I think everyone cares but like someone else said, I'm certainly not going to worry over a low rating. I just like to see what people think. I find that interesting as well. I love my new photo taken by one of my basketball teammates at a WNBA Ct Sun Game where I was dancing. That is my passion (dancing) and my joy of it is reflected in the photo. That joy in turn usually leads to a nice rating.

Happy ratings to you all.....wow!
