About me: "Distance is ignored by love." That's an old Hawaiian saying that describes my philosophy. Hi, I'm Doug. I am an impulsive adventurer who has been known to fly to Wyoming on the weekends to do some climbing and come back. I like to go kayaking, rafting, hiking, biking: if it ends in "ing" I'd probably try it at least once. I moved to Tennessee to help take care of my aging parents. I am the youngest on nine children and my father was in the Navy while I was growing up. I acquired a taste for travel and it stuck. I have been around the world and by the time I graduated high school I had gone to 17 different schools. I am half German and half Irish...so you know I have a good sense of humor, because I need to be able to laugh at myself. I have no children of my own, but I have 21 nephews and neices and 5 great (or is it grand) nephews and neices.
