And, once found, equally, if not more difficult, to hold onto. By today's standards "love" is defined so many different ways that just finding two people that share similar concepts of the word or it's meaning are a considerable challenge all by itself.
In past decades and centuries it was based at least as much on survival, but now that we have a society where women and men are rapidly approaching a status of equality that has never been seen before, the challenge of finding "reasons" to get together and stay together get considerably more difficult. Being able to walk away at a moments notice certainly dosen't help force people to hang in there and work out their problems, particularly in the most trying times.
Like most of societies ill's, but best chance of success must begin with the youngest of our species. We must not only teach but insist that children learn the meaning of the word as well as it's many variations. We need to teach them to respect and admire diversity while also having the courage to hold onto their own belief's. We must also teach them that what they see on TV isn't a guide for the way the world should work, but just another form of useless entertainment that won't benefit them as much as their own participation in "real life".
Real Love is certainly whatever you choose to make it. The trick seems to be in figuring out exactly what that means to each of us ... then finding someone else that shares similar beliefs.
Good Luck to all of us!

Young people have no problem in this area. They can fell "in love" on many occasions.
Skeptic--hel who knows all.
