THE MOST UNCOMFOARTABLE PLACE I'VE BEEN TO WAS MUNICH IN GERMANY FILMMING A STORY ABOUT A FAMOUS WORLD WAR PERSON FOR A TELEVISION COMPANY !...I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN I ARRIVE THEN UNTIL THE DAY I LEFT ( HAVING SAID THAT WE HAD A GREAT TIME FILMMING IN OTHER PARTS OF GERMANY AND MET SOME REAL NICE GERMAN PEOPLE ..AND BEFORE THAT HAD A COUPLE OF GERMAN PENPALS THAT I REALLY LIKED AND VISITED



BUT THERE WAS A BAD FEELING FEELING ABOUT MUNICH FROM WHEN I FIRST GOT THERE !

Homeless, living in my truck in Atlanta Georgia on the first day of the Olympics. Motel rooms were $500 per night and I was living off iced tea and hash browns from the waffle house. Lived like that for 3 months. Never, ever again!

I dislike HongKong very much..to me it is the most soulless city I have ever spent time in and to top it off I flew Cathay Pacific which was the most dreadful airline I have ever experienced...The hostess's were plain rude, the food was worse than airline food and they run out of alcohol in about an hour after take-off...

As far as experiences..I have only ever got sick once...in Dehli I ended up with the worse food poisoning..was on a drip for 23 days and stuck in a hospital delirious with non-english speaking 'doctors'..I wanted to die I felt so bad..
I rode around Morrocco on a motorcycle..crashed and broke my ankle but Morrocco is one of my most favourite spots..

Gaza was frightening at times but I was too worried for some the kids there to be concerned for myself..Closest call was a car bomb about 20 seconds after I walked past...

Ummm..thats it Gilly..most places offer their own innate beauty that captures each individuals heart and fondness.....

DELHI !....WELL .....I'VE NEVER HAD A GREAT FASINATION FOR INDIA ...GO THERE SEE THE TAJ MAHAL ...AND THATS IT !

I NKOW ITS CHEAP AND PEOPLE SPEND MONTHS THERE ...AND WHEN YOU GET THERE YOU MOST PROBALY WANT TO STAY THERE LONGER BUT I'M MORE ATTRACTED TO ORIENTAL PLACES MALAYSIA SINGAPORE AND MAYBE THE PHILLIPINES !

I ALSO THINK ITS DISGUSTING THAT CATHY PACIFIC CAN RUN OUT OF ALCOHOL HALF AN HOUR AFTER A FLIGHT HAS TAKEN OFF !...ITS OUTRAGEOUS !

Morrocco is hell beautiful..so old world mixed with new..I just love suuks..(markets) persian rugs..the smell of falafel etc.
The flamingoes were incredible..Getting around on a bike is the best way..
Pakistan is geographically beautiful..Tanzia..Lebanon..Syria and Jordan...I did some travelling along the border of Pakistan with a guide and mule but it can be quite dangerous in places with taliban and the weather harsh...
Perhaps Hong Kong is better for you and yes the food is the best!!! I agree on that one..I miss it often and go into chinatown here to visit one of those small cafes with ducks and pigs hanging in the window..Smells like an outhouse but the meal is worth enduring it..

Palestine was work..6 months of hell...I find it pointless to go back now..new visions and horizons await...

I think problem is not India or Pakistan! And not everybody has stomach problems, i believe. It is your filthy imagination that has no grounds. Ask some sensible people and they will tell you the best of Indian food. Have some good food for thought!!!!

If you reread the thread you will see Gilly was not infact insulting your food but referring to how some western peoples stomach cannot handle it and we end up sick..It is a fact!!! Our diet does not consist of the same spices..

oh yes I do i was divorced over 14 yrs ago and have no desire to go there again

I usually like about most places I have been to, but the South (where I have lived for 4 years) is iffy. The biggest issue is the unrelenting summer heat; I wilt when it hits 80 (so last summer's 100+ for two months was killing me) and the tornadoes are wearing thin. Give me a good ol' N'oreaster Blizzard any day! Up north, I don't even button up my coat 'til it gets down to the single digits. The only reason for heat is to be on the beach tanning and diving in and out of the surf. If you cannot be at the beach, you are literally toast (and there are no beaches where I live). The heat killed everything in my garden last season. My next move will definitely be to a cooler climate. Another summer like last year and the move will happen sooner rather than later.

South America was amazing -- great people, good food, extremely affordable. The Amazon was hotter than hell but you had the rains every day and the wind as you sailed downriver with the dolphins (yes, there are dolphins in the Amazon). The Andes and Machu Picchu were extraordinary. I was stranded in Lima post-9-11 and the locals went out of their way to help us. I didn't get bitten by anything (used skin-so-soft and the Amazonian bugs didn't like it though the People using DEET products got eaten alive). Had an unsettled stomach one afternoon but never really got sick ( followed the rules about washing fruit and using bottled water only). Amazing experience!
