A fact even economy proffesors are very agree a bout .......
So I really cant stop thinking what I have known for a long time Stressfree!
The main reason why so many organisations abused their actions based on Greed , was a George W Bush in the White House and the matter is certain as nothign else!
But of course...... We dont have to be agree a bout any thing Stressfree!
It's cool singleDude. We agree on some things, and we don't agree on some things. Trust me, there is really nobody in the world who agrees with me 100%, and I really don't agree with anybody in the world 100%. Get it? We all have our own minds right? Or are we indoctrinated robots?
Anyways singleDude, I don't agree with your assessment that Bush is the only reason behind the global meltdown. It goes way back and involves republicans, democrats, independents, and the people who were just as risky and reckless with their money.
I personally know two people who made really bad decisions when they bought their home via a subprime loan.

StressFree wrote:I totally disagree Kansan. Nothing personal, but we have two different opinions. That is all.
The civil war was fought in America Kansan. And in 1864, America was not the superpower of the world, so the civil war was not as damaging to the rest of the world on all levels...especially with the global markets. The dynamics of everything is drastically different Kansan...or so it seems to me. That is all.
Doggone kids! Cain't teach 'em nothin' 'cause they already know it all!
Ratios and perspective, SF, ratios and perspective. Do you not understand that in the time of the civil war, America was the closest thing the world HAD to a "superpower?" I mean, heck, only "four score and seven years" before, America had defeated, in a war for independence, arguably the most powerful nation on the face of the earth at the time. In the mean time, we as a country, had started the most far reaching expansion movement and industrialization period the world had ever known to that point. Wow, talk about something that affected the global markets!
And EVERYTHING in the known world was affected by the outcome of both wars (independence and civil). The only thing that's really different, really, is the numbers and the cost. And the numbers (casualty wise) in this war have been considerably smaller. The monetary cost has been greater, but I'd be willing to bet that the ratio is very close to being same if one takes into account inflation. And I think that history will tell us that the "dynamics" are really very much the same when put into the perspective of the respective times.
Contrary to what you might think, I understand where you're coming from and why you think the way you do. I'm just not willing to condemn Mr. Bush for this war any more than I was willing to condemn Mr. Clinton for <allegedly> giving our "secrets" to the Chinese. I can't, I don't have all of the facts. And, unless you're privy to everything that goes on in the Whitehouse, Pentagon and other "nerve centers" around the world, neither do you...
Looks like we'll indeed have to agree to disagree on this. I'm not going to be able to change your mind because I'm too old was born in the wrong place (according to you). You're not going to able to change my mind because you're younger and were born in California (I'm being facetious). You live in Sweden the majority of the year and I live in the U.S. full time. You know a ton about baseball and I know a ton about history. Neither of us are as stubbborn as the other would like to believe. You've made up your mind about Mr. Bush's "guilt" and I haven't...

Kansan...I agree. I'm hoping I'm right.
I like your style at taking some things out of context Maybe I did too I tried to keep it in the ballpark
Anyways, Great Briton was economically the lone superpower in 1865 and a valid argument can be made that Great Briton possessed the best military during the British Empire.
Maybe you need to freshen up on your history? I hope this is not about American pride/ego now
From wiki cause it's faster, to the point : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Empire:
Between 1815 and 1914, a period referred to as Britain's "imperial century" by some historians, around 10 million square miles of territory and roughly 400 million people were added to the British Empire.Victory over Napoleon left Britain without any serious international rival, other than Russia in central Asia and, unchallenged at sea, Britain adopted the role of global policeman, a state of affairs later known as the Pax Britannica. Alongside the formal control it exerted over its own colonies, Britain's dominant position in world trade meant that it effectively controlled the economies of many nominally independent countries, such as in Latin America, China and Siam, which has been characterised by some historians as an "informal empire".

Indyfella wrote:Great NEWS courtesy of Fox: Nevada state authorities seized records and computers Tuesday from the Las Vegas office of an organization that tries to get low-income people registered to vote, after fielding complaints of voter fraud.
Bob Walsh, spokesman for the Nevada secretary of state's office, told FOXNews.com the raid was prompted by ongoing complaints about "erroneous" registration information being submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.
The group was submitting the information through a voter sign-up drive known as Project Vote.
"Some of them used nonexistent names, some of them used false addresses and some of them were duplicates of previously filed applications," Walsh said, describing the complaints, which largely came from the registrar in Clark County, Nev.
Secretary of State Ross Miller said the fraudulent registrations included forms for the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys football team.
"Tony Romo is not registered to vote in the state of Nevada, and anybody trying to pose as Terrell Owens won't be able to cast a ballot on Nov. 4," Miller said.
Walsh said agents from both the secretary of state's office and Nevada attorney general's office conducted the raid at 9:30 a.m. local time, and "took a bunch of stuff."
ACORN spokesman Charles Jackson confirmed the group's Nevada office was raided. He would not comment further to FOXNews.com.
Neither the group, which hires canvassers to register voters, nor any employees have been charged or arrested for fraud or other crimes, said Miller, a Democrat.
But it's not the first time ACORN's been under investigation for registration irregularities. The raid is the latest of at least nine investigations into possible fraudulent voter registration forms submitted by ACORN -- the probes have involved ACORN workers in Wisconsin, New Mexico, Indiana and other states.
In 2006, ACORN also committed what Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed called the "worse case of election fraud" in the state's history.
In the case, ACORN submitted just over 1,800 new voter registration forms, and all but six of the 1,800 names were fake.
More recently, 27,000 registrations handled by the group from January to July 2008 "went into limbo because they were incomplete, inaccurate, or fraudulent," said James Terry, chief public advocate at the Consumers Rights League. For some reason, Chris Matthews isn't talking about this on Hardball.
LMFAO, gosh...from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACORN
"In contrast, John Atlas argues in a Huffington Post editorial that ACORN has "accumulated many enemies" and has been "subjected to vicious attacks from business lobbyists, conservative politicians, and right-wing media." This same source alleges that the George W. Bush administration has sought to harass ACORN with accusation of voter fraud."
ACORN=radical change
ACORN endorsed the candidacy of Barack Obama during the 2008 Democratic Presidential Primary.
