They so hate water.....I would'nt even try to bath a cat.....but then again I dont like cats.....I dont hate them either, they just would'nt be a pet for me....I prefer the barking type.....

oh, my niece once in a while washes their cat. she takes it into the yard, close all windows and doors, so it has no escape route, and hoses it with water.

but that's as far the bath goes, as the cat won't let her get next to it to soap it up.

and cats aren't on the top of my pets list either, they're to selfish to my liking!

They are very territorial, vicious, tempremental, dis loyal, hunters, etc........you could'nt trust them.....and as you said selfish.....it's all about them.......

as a cat person who always bathed her cats periodically I have personally been on the rweciving end of all those LOOKS.

The first time you wet down a large fluffy cat and see the scrawny little carcass under all the fur...well cata hate when you laugh at them and have been known to move out!

Well, I happen to be a cat person - Love 'em somethin' fierce. ...And most of the cats I've known were more loyal than most of the humans I've known... (Cats can also be good teachers if we're willing to rise to their level long enough to learn.)

Not necessarily! If you start doing this careful and regulary, with a little reward at the end when they're still little kittens, thay will love it! I had a cat who knew everytime when it was bathing time: she sat already in the bowl, where she got washed, and waited for me!

And also: I had cats and dogs and never a problem: they loved and respected each other!

Good way to get on cats bad side...I had a cat once that loved the water...he would get up on the side of the tub and while I showered and I used to put him in the pool in the summer when he was ho to cool him down and he loved it...he would do one lap across the pool and then get out...I know he was weird...he had 6 toes on each front paw too and looked like he had gloved on....

I've only ever given my cats baths when they had fleas & used a flea soap on them. They weren't crazy about it, but if you hold them by the scruff of the neck then they're usually pretty cooperative. The two I have now are always trying to get into the shower with me, and the Siamese likes to watch the water go down the toilet. I know...straaaaaaaaaaaange cat...lol
